The first doll-house gallery MICROGALERIA SUR opened in San Fernando, Gran Canaria, January 2010. It was originally made by an elderly man for the daughter of a friend. The second doll-house gallery MIKROGALLERI NOR opened at Søndre Sandøy, Hvaler, Norway, July 2011. The idea came after exhibiting in and visiting the Canarian one. Curated by Magne Rudjord A286. For the story, the list of exhibitions and practical details, click here.
Both of these galleries are found on islands on the outskirts of Europe, and both of these islands are marked by seasonal tourism. Hence the heading "art in the tourist resort" (Arte en la zona turistica). Some exhibitions/artworks will be exchanged, with openings in the south in winter and in the north in summer.
