The gig includes many covers, even a vocal cut of Springsteen's DANCING IN THE DARK

The second cdr features recordings from the collection of Karen Wallace, recorded in St. Paul Minnesota around May 1960.

STANDING ON THE HIGHWAY: LIVE, DEMOS AND RADIO SHOW CD-R Includes the complete demos for Leeds Music recorded in early -62 with several unique early Dylan compositions including the powerful proto-blues STANDING ON THE HIGHWAY. Also features songs from the Oscar Brand Radio Show and the BBC TV play MADHOUSE ON CASTLE STREET as well as four songs recorded in Cynthia Gooding's apartment and five from Dylan's first major concert hall appearance at Carnegie Hall. Ranges from the apocalyptic to the ribald, showing the remarkable range and depth of the young Dylan in the pre-Freewheelin' period.

THE BROADSIDE SESSIONS CD-R Compiles the complete sessions for Broadside topical songs (Tracks 4-17), recorded between November 62 and March 63 (including rare tracks like TALKIN' DEVIL and CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS) along with WBA1-FM Broadside radio show with Pete Seeger (1-3) and songs from 1963 March on Washington(18-19)

Some essential pieces in the Dylan jigsaw.

GOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY - The Gospel Songs Of.. (Shirley Caesar, Lee Williams, Dottie Peoples, Aaron Neville) - fully formed gospel album sanctioned by Dylan, recorded as a session makes this stick together. Dylan and fab. Mavis Staples are even doing an exclusive duet, WITH smalltalk... CD, Columbia

ALL BLUES'D UP (Isaac Hayes, Leon Russel, Larry McCray, Ma Staples, The Band) - here you'll find some of my favourite covers sung by people with even more scruffy voices, this is the real deal. CD

SINGS DYLAN, Odetta - classic low-key late sixties folk/blues versions. CD

MAY YOUR SONG ALWAYS BE SUNG VOL 1 (Jennifer Warnes, The Hooters, Jeff Healey, Leningrad Cowboys, Bobby Bare...) First in recommended series. BMG, CD

MAY YOUR SONG ALWAYS BE SUNG VOL 3 (Eric Andersen, Rick Danko, Julian Dawson, Hederos & Hellberg...) - third in the recommended series of various interpretations, lots of lower-key atmosphere, Danko from The Band at his best ever, norwegian band Tankelaus Tid are even on it. BMG, 2xCD

ZIMMERMAN FRAMED/IT AIN'T ME BABE (The Settlers, The Ivy League, The Tremeloes, Cliff Aungier) - pop- and psychedelia covers from late sixties. CD

HARD RAIN VOL ONE and TWO (Echo & The Bunnymen, Thurston Moore/Kim Gordon, Thea Gilmore, Manfred Mann, The Specials, Lee Ranaldo, Emmylou Harris...) - UNCUT music magazine came out in a special edition with two different cover song cd's, so you had to get both. Clever. But stunning to hear more contemporary artists dig into this material, and to read what the superstar jury has decided. 2xCD+Magasine

BOB DYLAN SONG BOOK (David Hay, Julian Dunkley, Martin Smith) - humm, direct cover versions from a band without a name, good renditions, copycats. CD
